Zimbabwe: 14 Human rights violations recorded in the first half of April 2017

An organisation, Heal Zimbabwe recorded 14 human rights
violations in 9 districts of the country in between 08-19 April 2017. The violations were grouped into three categories: Intimidation with threats of withdrawal of food aid or agricultural inputs, forced participation (in political meetings, polling stations, financial or material contributions) and destruction of political gatherings.

The report reads

"Intimidation remains prevalent in local communities with 79% (11 cases) recorded this week followed by forced participation to political gatherings with 14% (2 cases) and disrupted meetings which recorded 70% (1 case)".

The continued prevalence of intimidation can be largely attributed to the ongoing restructuring exercise of ZANU PF structures country wide.

The continued intimidation and harassment particularly of opposition members is likely to intensify as the nation approaches the 2018 national Elections.

Zimbanwe: Journalists arbitrary arrests up by 130%

Unlawful arrests of journalist s by the Zimbabwean police have increased by 130% in the past 12 months says the Media Alliance of Zimbabwe (MAZ). This reflects on the government’s intensification of the suppression of freedom of expression and guard to the electronic media from private players.

The statistics were released by the organisation during a Press conference in Harare as the World anticipates for Media Freedom Day that is celebrated on 3 May.

The organisation said stats of journalists arrested, beaten, or tortured by the police in 2016 were put together by the Media Institute of Southern Africa- Zimbabwe in their 2016 state of the media report.

"There was an upsurge in media violations with at least 23 journalists unlawfully arrested or detained in the last year," MAZ said.

"The report notes that there were 12 journalists assaulted by either the police or by unruly political activists while professionally covering news events translating to a shocking 130% & 70% increase in the number of journalists arrested and assaulted, respectively, while on duty." The organisation further stated that it was concerned by government threats against media and switching-off of online social-media during political disturbances.

"We implore the government to create a safe working environment for the media and to provide leadership within and outside government in raising awareness on the need to ensure safety of journalists and media workers," MAZ said.

"We buttress the calls for the government to address the sustainability challenges within the media industry by reviewing the multiple tax regimes and to further facilitate for the viability of the media industry."

Zimbabwe: Bread prices won't be going up

Current bread prices of 90c-$1.00 will remain the same despite soaring costs of flour. Consumers are assured there won't be changes by the Grain Marketing Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) national chairperson Tafadzwa Musara.

(GMAZ) & (NBAZ), millers and bakers associations are jointly in negotiations with central bank (RBZ) for an immediate availing of foreign currency to settle all outstanding wheat import payments, but the industry personnel are confident they will be settled in the next few days.

In his statement Mr. Musara said, "This, we are confident, will be settled in the next few days."

"Consequently, the milling industry wishes to advise that supply of flour, and by extension supply of bread, will remain more than adequate and consumers must not be worried."

"Secondly, prices will not go up on the account of costs of flour." He said.

Core to the success of British Imperialism in Africa

Quote: Lord Macaulay's on his address to the British parliament of 2nd February 1835.

"I have travelled across the length and breadth of Africa and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief, such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage and therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Africans think that everything foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation."

Indeed, to public knowledge, the mentality still shapes Africa and looks like it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Billionaire, Jack Ma predicts decades of global economy ‘pain’ caused by the internet

Alibaba leader, billionaire, Jack Ma has put forth a warning that the world should brace for decades of social upheaval and pain as the internet disturbs the global economy.

“In the next thirty years, the world’s pain will be much greater than its happiness,” Ma said at an entrepreneurial conference in Zhengzhou, China.

“Social conflicts over the next thirty years will hugely impact every industry.”

According to Ma, the world must change the way people are taught and establish how to work with robots to help soften the blow caused by automation and the internet.

“Machines should only do what humans cannot,” he said, adding that “Only in this way can we have the opportunities to keep the machines as working partners with humans, rather than as replacements.”

He gave reference to his earlier warnings about how the internet would impact industries.
“Fifteen years ago I gave speeches 200 or 300 times reminding everyone that the internet will impact all industries, but people didn’t listen because I was nobody,” he said.
He has called for traditional industries to stop complaining about the internet’s effects on the economy. He believes Cloud-computing and artificial intelligence are essential for business.

Zimbabwe Anticipating 'Bumper Harvest of Maize'

Maize is the staple food for the country. For almost two decades Zimbabwe will produce enough maize to be able to export the grain, said Vice President Emerson Mnangagwa on Friday last week.

"Indicators from the areas I have toured to date suggest that we're herding for a bumper harvest," he said while speaking at a meeting in the country's capital city Harare.

He cited the above-average 2016/17 rainfall amount and command agriculture for the projection. The yields expected are two million seven hundred thousand maize tons. And farmers are expected to earn $USD390.00 per metric ton. However, comments on the national pricing have shown that farmers are dissatisfied and in the near future are more likely to ditch maize farming in favor of cash crop farming which is more profitable.

4 Absurd Mobile Applications

Like we haven't enough of the crazes going around the world; recently, application developers have adopted into their hands to develop 'literary' digital applications that have done nothing in recognition besides bearing the label 'grotesque'.
There are lot of absurd applications in the digital pool and these are some of the most reputable.

Rumblr ''Tinder for fighting app" (dismissed as a hoax)

Recreational fighting, a punch is not really something that is enjoyable to anyone. But for some who might feel it's something they have to do, well. It would have been a wonderful chance for them to experience ‘hook up fight’ with 0% level of altercation required. Obviously, the self-reckoning tinder first hit the internet somewhere around late October 2015; it turned out to be a hoax.
The purpose of this application was to connect users for a recreational fight. The fight would occur on a mutual venue and it would be broadcasted live on the 'Rumbler' website- with proof of course.

Places I've pooped

"I literary track all the places I have pooped" is one of the lines in the application's customer reviews. Another one says "After log in update I lost all my poops" I had poops. I had poops in Hawaii and all over the states", that there is an outraged user after his 'Places I've Pooped' crashed.

Up to date the application boasts of over 200 000 users that are enjoying tracking the places they have pooped.
The application allows its users to record each and every place they pooped. As if that's not crazy enough, you get to share your 'Maps' on social media that means there is a chance for you to see where your friends did it too.

Poop Analyzer

There are a lot of poop games found in this application. It is a prank game that is made for fun, not really meant to analyze your poop if that's what you thought. But have fun with poop? No! You press your finger on the app's scanner and the application will 'see' what sort of poop you'll leave at the restroom.

Cuddlr (Changed Name)

With Cuddlr, depending on who's 'near your location' you ‘could’ find individuals who are up for a cuddling session. The application was launched back in September 2014, and it got huge number of users, supposedly, just looking for a cuddling session, without any other expectations of course.

Though a lot of reviewers have had seemingly negative things to say like "it's quite creepy..." it seems like you never really know with some things a real 'goodie' might be in a cuddle.

4 Examples of good propaganda

In most cases, propaganda is used to serve for the purposes of minorities. There have been detrimental and highly fatal propagandas like the ones during the Holocaust and those leading to the wide reshaping of the world through imperialism by ‘super- powers’. Propaganda has been in existence since the earliest of time in World’s history and operates almost at the same level of sternness at whatever given time. Though most individuals are not well informed on what propaganda is, it still affects their lives. Propaganda is widely defined as ‘information especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view’. Propagandas are controlled by minorities in societies. They exist in every corner of the globe and precisely influence how people view things, and behave, you name it. For instance how African leaders portray the western world, imperialistic, or how the Asian leadership speaks of the world outside of Asia, loose. The list goes on.
But, these are four of some of the times propaganda is used for the benefit of the masses.

‘Women’ are the weaker sex. (Most societies are patriarchal)
Mostly used in the studies of literature and social studies, the view has enabled an unending number of groups around the world to address the general challenges that are faced by women. Patriarchy, which is the dominance of men in many societies supposing the belittling of women, has been slowly overturned since the turn of the 21st century. The slowly natured claim has met an awakening of powerful groups fighting gender cases to overturn the woman’s ‘fate’.
The other 98% ‘Oligarchy’
Well expert theorists say 98% of the populations are ‘controlled’ by the remaining 2%. 1% of the 2% representing the political leaders and the remaining 1% making up the numbers of the rich societies that have influence on a country’s economy hence a hold on the politicians. And it is the case everywhere around the world. But only with sort of eye opening propaganda of the 98% that has spread mostly through social media urging masses to overturn the system by fighting against the minority rules in pursuit of actual democracy.
Black Lives Matter
‘Black-people’ throughout the course of history have always been known as an oppressed group of people-in racial terms. They are oppressed in one way or the other, directly in the time of slavery and the post slavery eras, colonialism, and all the way to post colonialism. The black lives matter campaign seeks to make people conscious on how the world’s ‘black’ people are plighted by structural marginalization.
Disease Awareness’s
Diseases cause a lot of trouble for the world. World-health-organisation(s’) immersion of energy in fighting chronic and incurable diseases has helped a lot of people in the whole world to take steps to preserve their health as well as taking preventive measures against diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Zica and Ebola. There have been countless disease awareness campaigns around the world. This sort of propaganda is directly beneficial to the masses from anywhere around the world as it protects people from likely detrimental disease situations.

Care for Someone

Care for someone is a Zimbabwean Children's charity. It was opened in 2001. Its prime focus when it started were girls, but however they have since moved to the inclusion of boys.

In the face of challenges like, unavailability of education to some Zimbabwean children, higher HIV/AIDS prevalence rates, as much as 1.6 million children without parental care, many juveniles becoming breadwinners, high unemployment rates and almost 0% welfare support. It is almost as most of the children are destined for a life of destitution, exploitation, prostitution, mental health problems and substance abuse.

Care for Someone notes vulnerable young people from poor families and rolls out a care plan. However, the organization discourages the 'dependency-culture' by supporting families up to a time of self support.

One of their methods include- providing agricultural seeds and tools for growing crops that will be sold and the money used for paying school fees. But, prior to the families' self-sustenance, Care for Someone will be providing schooling and uniforms; books and stationery and in some cases, food and clothes.

The organization has no 'administration costs', and all donations go to help support a family and educate children.

They're currently operating in Ruwa, Harare, Murewa & Kwekwe and they're supporting children aged 5-18 years old (In preschool, primary and secondary education).

A Sect of Women says It's Okay for Husbands to Beat them

A school teacher from radical Muslim group (Huzb ut-Tahrir), Reem Allouche, demonstrated at a meeting in Sydney, Australia, how husbands can hit wives with a stick (practice called sivaak). The women from the group say it is fine for wives to be beaten by husbands for it promotes tranquility. Co-panelist, Atika Hatifi, also okayed violence saying it is a 'beautiful blessing'. She added that cheating wives can be beaten, but those who refuse to cook shouldn't.

During the 30-minute discussion -the two described beating wives as a 'symbolic act'- and men (according to the sect take the leadership position in the home) are allowed to hit disobedient wives with sticks.
Besides 'sivaak', other agreeable ways to discipline or punish women include using a twisted scarf or piece of fabric.
The women agree that they should be beaten if they are caught 'commiting sin' for it is a serious offence against Allah or their husbands.
However in another story, Islamic leader Keysar Trad apologised on the weekend for saying hitting women was 'last resort' admitting to Sky News presenter Andrew Bold, that he made a 'slip up'.

Zimbabwe: Politician Snatches Wife of SDA Pastor and Forces Him to Sign Divorce Papers

Pastor Wisdom Vhanga of Salvation Army allegedly had his wife, 'Ms Musiiwa' snatched away from him by the accused, Cde Dickson Mario's in an illicit affair. Pastor W. Vhanga and 'Ms Musiiwa' had been married for 14 years. Cde Dickson Vhanga who is the Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairman took 'Ms Musiiwa' to make her his third wife, but ironically his other two wives died in almost the same week.

Pastor Vhanga in his Herald interview said:

It's a true story. It caused a lot of problems in my life, but my church does not allow me to talk to the press. What I can only say is that it was an emotional moment that disturbed my life.

Another source told the Herald:

From what we know, the wife who is staying with Mafios right now was snatched from Pastor Vhanga. They had been married for fourteen years, they had a wedding in the church and I also attended that wedding. Pastor Vhanga and 'Ms Mussiwa' had one child called Makanaka. After his wife was taken, pastor was forced to sign divorce papers by Cde Mafios who was accompanied by some bouncers at Madziwa shopping centre.

Now, he is moving with that wife attending party functions and she is actually referred to as the 'First Lady' of the province. As a leader of the party, we don't expect such behaviour.

Social Classes In Zimbabwe: The Reality Of Black & White Social Position

Simbarashe Mubvuma

So I am at a dinner, in a hotel that I will not name for fear of a defamation suit. Well, I will not state the name for many others reasons too, but the name of the hotel is not the point. I am here fortuitously, because quite frankly I didn't think I would be here yesterday, or even when I woke up this morning. If I'm to be entirely honest, I didn't think I would be here when I was a small dusty boy growing up in the small town of Marondera. Until today, I didn't even know about this place. But I'm here now, and the next logical thing is for me to be happy, right? I hate to disappoint you but the fact that I'm here is appalling to me. It disgusts me.

You know there are so many strange things about this place, but one thing in particular is the reason why I'm ignoring the fine steak to type this unusual post. I have been told it's rude to type on the table, but the truth is I can't help it. To me, this whole situation is a patriotic emergency. I feel that I have to ignore this food and type. The thing is I am the only black diner here and people who look like me, people who look like my brothers, my sisters and my friends are here too, but only as laborers, waiters and dancers (yes there are black people dancing and playing drums as we eat). They are not part of this charming festivity.
The fact that I'm here, that I'm the only person like me who is dining here, does not appease me. It is quite frankly appalling to me. Not because I hate to eat, or that the beautiful view and the lovely ambiance does not impress me. Far from it. I just think this dinner, these dances, this food, this steak, this whole idea that I'm the only one of my color and my background in this place represents something bigger, something more political, something more depressing.

I can assure you that the reason why I see no faces like mine here is not because the people who look like me do not yearn to dine in these fine places, it is not because they do not like to eat or that they wouldn't appreciate a lovely view. Quite the opposite. Most of them whom I know, whom I grew up with and with whom I lived and laughed are hungry, they are struggling, they are desperate. They have no jobs, no prospects, no hope. In all truth, most of them, aside from these dancers and my brothers who made this fine steak, do not even know that places like these exist in their own country.

And all this is in their own land, the land of their ancestors, the country they are told is independent, the country their grandfathers and grandmothers died for. That fine country they love. The country they call home. The only country they have. I think if you look like me and this is not appalling to you then you have forgotten where you come from.
So who do we blame for all this fine mess, and this fine food. Because we have to blame someone. I would not dare blame these diners, or this lovely hotel, or this fine steak. I blame those men in over-sized suits back in Harare. Those men who masquerade as a government. Those men who told us that independence was everything. Those men who my grandmother voted for in 1980 when I wasn't even born. Those men should be ashamed.

So in 2018, if you do not know about this fine place, if you appreciate fine steak and a lovely view, if you have no hope and no prospects, you need to go out, let your need for fine steak and a lovely view be heard. You deserve this, and a whole lot more. I do not know how the election will pan out, but trust me if you let your need for fine steak be heard, you will definitely feel a whole lot better about the whole thing.

Just Childhood in Zimbabwe

The prime days of my childhood were spent in Glen Norah A, a neighbourhood in the South Western side of Harare just about a fifteen-minute drive from the capital’s CBD, seven or so when the traffic is low and you’re not too old. And from the age fourteen years old onwards to eighteen much of my time was spent away at boarding schools.
I came to complement the talk of bad governance in Africa through first hand experiences and understood how it strongly impacts the lives of imminent citizens. Bread queues, food shortages, ‘currency inflation’, corruption and higher petty-crime rates are just some of the things that characterise the hard life that comes along with it to an average citizen.

Bread Queues

The most remarkable:  'bread queues’, the saddle skipped me during the weekdays when I had to go to school. There was a maid at home who would leave her duties to join queues at the stores. And at times my auntie would have cut a deal with the bread sourcing ‘boyz’ in town. The bread shelves in the country were almost always empty in the years 2002 and 2003. And those ‘boyz’ were always on point, predicted the outlets, and kept updated on where there would be a sale. And with the bread prices rising at a quite stable rate in the years; ranging from ZW$2500 up to ZW$3000 allowed the dealers to add around ZW$250 -500 making a profit of maybe 10-20%, spare the group they were in just another sad wing of life in the country's economy.

But, it wasn’t every child that didn’t have to go in the morning queues. Most of the times in the morning going to school I would see children on every store that I passed regardless they had to be in school or if the delivery trucks would bother show up. That’s how bad it was. Bread is one of the main component of the day’s meals in the country, yet it was almost nowhere to be found as was with its substitutes.
It was on all weekends and almost every day of the holidays that year that I would wake up at 5: 00 am in order to catch a favourable position in one of the queues. And it was like that for the whole of 2003.
On one of the days I was almost in front of the queue before the bread truck arrived. And the people were too tired and frustrated by waiting for long hours. When it arrived the queue ruined out of enthusiasm. Sweating men and women stampeded the store’s entrance. And guards were flogging people out of the store.

I took my chances, incisively using my tiny body to get past the adult bodies until I was at the store’s entrance. Unfortunately, the guard struck into crowd with his button stick right as I set my foot at the stairs of the store.
And he caught me on the head, I dropped on the floor, half fainted, and bleeding. I only woke up at the back of the store moments later where I leant impotently against an anonymous pee smelling wall.

Night Mealie Meal Queues

If there could be any chaos worse of those related to food in the country in the years 2002 and 03 was that of mealie meal. Mealie meal is the only ingredient of the country’s staple food, sadza. Yet also there was there was none in the shops. The country’s land handover exercise hadn’t gone too well, and agriculture was at one of its worst of times and to make the situation worse, the pile of international embargoes were beginning to sweep of every manufacturing company by storm.

In the times before, it had never been a problem finding corn meal in the shops just like with the ‘staple’ in any other stable nation. Now in hard times the conditions dictated it to be sold only at night. The streets would flood if it had been in the afternoon for people from different locations would throng to places where it was being sold. Besides the shops, mealie meal could be found on the dark-market tagged with the enormous black-market prices and tagged at false weights, 7kilogrammes is 10 kilogram’s that sort thing.

Mealie meal queues were even bigger and chaotic. All the people were there, most day workers from the public services, and private workers you name it, pickpockets too. And at the peak of the plight people had to wait until around 9pm for the delivery trucks to show up, and the grinning and the lashing would begin.

I would have been at home some time earlier, my auntie instructing me catch a place in the queue and to spot her when she showed up. She was the one who would come with the money to pay; kids couldn’t be trusted with money in such an environment.

Pickpockets! For the four or five times I went to the queues, she had always showed up in time before this other night. The trucks arrived earlier than expected and I picked a bag and found a marginal and cosy spot to wait in the disused parts of the store. Thirty minutes, one hour, one and a half hours and I fell asleep until woke in the early hours of the morning because of the cold and the store was empty. And I crouched on the spot, dead cold, until 7: am.

Scanty Food in Boarding Schools 2007- 2008

Attending a boarding school was every kid’s dream in the country before the late 2000s. The first of the ‘modern’ educated elite emanated from 'white' mission boarding schools, eventually becoming the standard of modern ‘Zimbabwean’ people. And also just the fact of being away from home with lots of food, kidding. But to some extent.

Also, the schools were top priority for parents, compared to ‘most’ government schools which were the only cheaper alternatives, provided top quality education, were quite expensive (which came along with a bit of status in society to families, and had desirable diets as opposed to household).

In-between 2007-08 boarding schools in Zimbabwe became a living hell. Living conditions at the schools were worsening quicker than the country’s economy. Food became painfully scarce. Food imports were at their lowest, the inflation was massive and food production was almost nowhere to be found. Funny meals were being served and at times at odd hours of the day. Soya meat and corn silo (for bulk serving isn’t really something that should bestore especially for three times a day). The cooks played along, negligence was evident in every circle.

Those few financially capable parents moved their children to the ‘limited’ private day schools or just enrolled them overseas. And those who couldn’t afford lucrative day schools yet had academically in-astute children had no option but to settle for government schools which hardly had any teachers.

One of the days in 2007 as we sat around the dining table at dinner, about ten or so as we were grouped in the little dining mass of around 400 students. One subversive pushed over the dishes of silo and chunks stood over the tables screaming, ENOUGH! And that was enough to make everyone’s rage apparent.

I remained seated-looking out through the windows as everyone raged. But, I wasn’t a traitor to my tummy nor despised the movement but I had a good reason for it. I had taken advantage of the inflation rates and I felt it was unfair for me to complain.

What was witnessed in the morning; a few burnt cars (which were useless either way, fuel was nowhere to be found); burnt school admin houses and a couple of silly casualties of course (broken classroom windows).

Inflation and manipulation

Rates ranged around 500 billion% at the peak of the Zimbabwean dollar high inflation rate era. New ‘zero-slashed” notes were being introduced every month, from 2007-08 the National Reserve Bank introduced new styled notes for more than ten times with hoards of denominations per lot, ZW$1 to ZW$100 Trillion.

The situation made it impossible for schools to project budgets. Most at the end of the terms pegged fees in absurd figures. But not surprisingly, in one months' time when the holidays came to an end, that figure would be too little that some kids could afford to cover it own their own.
I loved video games when I was in school. Yet they are luxuries. And in such an economy luxuries weren’t the best of things to chase after; daily basics were hardly being met. And I couldn’t afford to buy any, what I had was a risky option.

Since banks were out of the question for school fees payments, for they wouldn’t manage to operate on the minimum cash withdrawal limits. School fees payments were limited to school administrations for payment in cash.

Because of that I would be given my school fees ‘personally’ to go and pay to the school's cash office. But instead of paying I would look for video games with half of it, and do a down payment just enough to get me into school. The rest of it, buy $US 1.00 off the black market and Keep it in a safe place at school waiting for the end the term just before the exams. And at that time it wasn’t rare to come across a fellow student searching for used up notes around the dormitories (which were ‘worthy’ at the start of the term) from other students so that they could settle their fees.

When the food row arose, I hadn’t paid my school fees. That is why I kept staring outside through the windows where the heavy winds blew away the dry leaves off the trees instead.

I had a US$1.00 stashed somewhere in my trunk waiting for for the right time to spin it so that I could settle the (billions) which would have been equivalent to around US$250 at the start of the term. It felt unfair that I should complain when I hadn’t done my part in the first place.
Corruption in broad daylight
Corruption was at rife during the country’s worst economic era of 2007-2008. Not necessarily because the casualties were greedy, but the desperation that comes along with such conditions were the greater force behind the actions. Integrity was definitely out of the picture.
Save yourself! The big wigs are at it too. Bribes! The reports were everywhere, the newspapers, the local and international news, banners, campaigns (the irony), and more.

Corruption was noble. Any survival ordeal in a broken economy goes. And the standpoint pervaded all circles in the society. Even the least expected. And as reported the police were amongst the top guns of corruption.

Normally, the country’s police do not set roadblocks after 10pm in highways; there is hardly any traffic at that time. Also, at a normal police roadblock there are ratting sign posts at a distance ‘Slow down Police Ahead’. But contrary it was the case on this other day when I was travelling from an aunt’s visit in Goromonzi. Our bus was stopped at a roadblock by two armed ‘pop-up’ traffic police offENOUGHin the thick darkness of the night just a few metres before we got into Harare and one the officers wrote a huge traffic ticket that summed up into an outrageous on-spot bill knowing the driver wouldn’t afford it.

As the norm, the driver suggested a bribe and the officer received the agreed fee. And we were expecting to get back on the road the other officer shut down the bus’s engine and apprehended the driver 'charging' him of bribing an officer. The driver was cuffed and got taken to the b-car and spent a very long time in it until the conductor who was being urged by the frustrated passengers followed him. The driver asked him for all the money passengers had paid and he paid the other officer another bribe.

But the officer thought it was too little and he had to pay more or else he would add another bribery charge. It was almost at midnight when the conductor tired of negotiating with the officers, came back to the bus and asked all the passengers to pay the bus fair for a second time in order to meet the officer’s demand or the driver would be arrested and the bus would be abandoned for the rest of the night. And sadly I had to pay for the ride again.

Facebook Feature Will Make Your Job Application Easier & Will Get To Recruit At Ease

Facebook has now enabled companies with facebook pages to post job openings directly on the social media site. The "Apply for this job" tab was rolled out on the 15th of this month and it is free for use to all companies with facebook pages. The feature comes as integration to social site that is accessible through workable and it has proved a success in its testing phase which began in November last year as well as the early days of its inception. A couple of small businesses that have made use of the feature have been reporting success with the platform.

The integration automatically updates a job's tab on the company's facebook page with open positions and it automatically tracks candidates who apply though facebook. The feature will not limit its reach to potential candidates, other users can like, share, and comment on the opening.

Listing a job on a page with the job features enabled and filling out its details for an employer will approximately take under five minutes and can be done in these three simple steps through admin access on the page;

1. Introduce the posting

2. Add three of the required details

3. Include a salary range

4. Fill any other relevant data using up to 5000 characters

5. Preview and publish post.

Candidates for the job will find the job listing on their facebook news feed or by visiting the company's page job section and can start to apply for the post by clicking the 'Apply for this job' tab which will take them to a pre-data filled form that gets submitted through facebook messenger.

With facebook jobs feature, companies can soon drive more traffic to their facebook pages while allowing them to pay for the social network to get their job openings in front of their candidates. And it has also been predicted that the feature should be able to capture the smaller businesses which make up the majority of the startup world. Due to this feature facebook has also drawn comparisons to WeChat, which is less like a social network and more like a complete internet on its own. And an argument has also been made apparent on whether facebook will takeover LinkedIn and become the most renowned professional recruitment site with regard to its huge numbers of users (1,79 billion) to LinkedIn's (467 million). Other top recruitment sites like Indeed and Craiglist, have been presupposed to face a stiffer challenge in the face of the development.
